    Asharqia Chamber of Women Business Center, represented by the Committee of Women Workers and Centers, in cooperation with L'Oreal Middle East, during a remote workshop, on Monday, June 15, 2020, reviewed the standards and requirements for achieving safety and public health in beauty salons, with a view to a safe return when re-allowed to open.

    The chairperson of the Chamber's Women’s Workers and Centers Committee, Professor Shua'a Al-Dahilan, welcomed the attendees from the owners of beauty salons, and the team of L'Oréal to present them the workshop, praising the partnership between L'Oréal and the Commission of Women’s Workers and Centers, noting that the goal of this partnership is to contribute to the development of sector Beauty salons in the region, by providing specialized workshops.​

    For this part, Patricia Freiha, Director of Development Middle East, Patricia Freiha, said that one of the requirements for achieving a safe return, whether for customers or work crews, is to start working on changing the organization or planning of the salon internally to take into account the rules of social divergence and to adapt to the new regulations, by promoting expansion. It is possible to receive and wait in the salon area and then adhere to the general health and safety standards, such as enhancing hand hygiene, using masks and gloves, wearing uniforms during customer service, as well as cleaning all tools and products after each customer and cleaning the different spaces in the hairdressing salon.

    Fariha stressed the need to provide health and safety requirements inside the salons, such as thermometers to measure the temperature of customers before entering, as well as the heat of work crews, masks, gloves, and sterilizers necessary to provide them in various places within the salon, and to avoid providing snacks, hospitality and coffee while providing usable materials once one, as well as the removal of all the elements that are easy to touch or tablet devices such as magazines or catalogs of information, as well as the removal of all test samples.
